Road Trip: A combination of motorbike tours and scuba diving through the Philippine Islands

 

The „Road Trip“ is a combination of adventure, motorbike and diving trip.
It is especially designed for the non visa required 21 days duration.

The round trip bestrides over four different Islands and covers the most popular tourist and diving spots of the Philippines.
You will overcome more than 1800 km /1500 miles on roads which are partly unpaved or in poor condition. No off roads tracks or jungle crossings!!!
That is why we use exclusively Honda XR 200 cc motorbikes.
The distances between the destinations varies from 160 to 360 km / 100 to 230 miles. See trip description description
All overnight stays will take place within resorts. Rooms may have different standards, but all provide air condition, hot water showers and except for Sipalay and Malapascua where there is no cable TV and fridge.

The „Road Trip“ begins and ends in Sabang Puerto Galera Mindoro.
The period specified for “The Road Trip” is mid of January till end of May.
A trip leader will accompany “The Road Trip” on his own motorbike.
Price applies from / to Sabang and includes

Accommodation:
20 overnights as a single person in a double bed room. Rooms are good for double occupancy.
In case of double occupancy the tour price for the second person will be reduced by half of the room rate.
Overnights in Sabang and Boracay include breakfast. Sipalay offers full board for additional 1000 Pesos per person per day.
Diving:
2o dives including equipment, dive guide and are organized by established dive operators in 6 different locations.
Motorbike:
Rent of the Motorbike and all shipping costs.

Day 1:
Arrival in Manila, transfer to Sabang. Puerto Galera Mindoro
Accommodation at the Sabang Hill Resort.

Start of “ The Road Trip”. Journey from Sabang Puerto Galera to Boracay Aklan 180 km / 110 miles
Departure from Sabang at 6 am. Roxas Mindoro arrival around 10 am.
Ferry transportation from Roxas Mindoro to Caticlan Aklan arrival in Catilan around 3 pm.
Passage to Boracay Island and transfer to the El Centro Beach Resort.
Day 5

Journey from Boracay Aklan to Sipalay Negros Occidental 360km / 230 miles.
Departure at Boracay at 7 am. Passage to Catilan Aklan.
Ride from Caticlan to Dumangas Panay 150 km / 95 miles
Ferry transportation to Bacolod Negros
Ride to Sipalay. Arrival about 5 pm. at the Artistic Diving Resort. 210 km / 135 miles

Departure at Sipalay at 10 am. Arrival at the Wellbeach Resort about 3p.m.

Day 11

Departure at 10 am. Arrival at Saverda Beach Resort Moalboal about 3 pm.

Journey from Moalboal Cebu to Malapascu Island 250 km / 155 miles
Departure at 9 am. Arrival in Maya Cebu about 4 pm.
Passage to Malapascua Island Cocobana Resort.

Embarkation on either M/V Trans Asia 2 or M/V Asia Philippines
Overnight journey from Cebu City to Iloilo Panay. Accommodation in double cabin single beds.
Day 19
Journey from Iloilo Panay to Sabang Puerto Galera Mindoro 350 km / 215 miles
Departure from Iloilo about 8 am. Ride to Caticlan Aklan 170 km / 105 miles
Ferry transportation from Catilan to Roxas Mindoro
Ride from Roxas to Sabang Puerto Galera 180 km / 110 miles.
Arrival and accommodation at the Sabang Hill Resort about 8pm..

Day 21 Departure from Sabang
Transfer to the international airport of Manila

Things to consider
Motorbike driving experience is prerequisite and indispensable.
Clothing should be thin and long. Thin breathable rain protection is perfect. Gloves are needed too.
The sun is merciless.... I have learned my lesson the hard way....
The itinerary is subject to change according to weather conditions, canceled or delayed ferry connections. Planned overnights and dives might be omitted under prevailing circumstances.
Paid dives are being reimbursed. Accommodation changes on route due to above mentioned conditions
might have a lower standard than those reserved at the scheduled destination.

Due to the schedules of local ferries, Thursday arrival days cannot be accommodated for this “Road Trip”.
